Drugs and Driving: the law

Introduced back in 2015 a drug driving law came into force within and England and Wales.

If you are taking your medicine as directed and your driving is not impaired, then you are not breaking the law.

It will remain an offence to drive while your ability is impaired by drugs and, if in doubt, you should not drive.

To find out more ask your doctor or a member of the pharmacy team.

For further information see Drugs and driving: the law on gov.uk

Drowning

Children need to be supervised in and around water constantly. Being in an environment where there are lots of adults or other children present, or adults are under the influence of drugs/alcohol can create a false sense of security when, in fact, children are at risk of not being supervised at all.

Care Signposting, what does it mean for our patients?

It is a ‘person centred’ approach that uses signposting and information to help our patients move through the health and social care system as smoothly and as quickly as possible in order to ensure that their unmet needs are met.

Medical Examiner Service

Since 2019 senior NHS doctors have had the opportunity to receive specialist training and spend some of their time working as Medical Examiners at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. Alongside other specially trained staff, their job is to give independent advice into causes of deaths, except for deaths which have to be reviewed by a Coroner.

From April 2024, there are some changes happening to the medical examiners office remit including the reporting of all deaths (of a non-coronial nature) to the Medical Examiner’s office by the GP surgery issuing the death certificate.
